Tell us about your company and what you do.
Grandstand Design Enterprises is a design/ build construction company focused on stadium seating projects.
How did you get started in your industry?
In February 1996, I took a sales and project management position with a small construction company in the heart of Waldorf, Maryland, specializing in school athletic equipment. Once I was introduced to bleacher seating systems, I fell in love. In april 2003, I started Grandstand Design Enterprises solely focused on bleacher seating systems. Since my focus was bleachers, I wanted to create the ultimate spot for all things relating to stadium seating systems.
What is something about your business that most people do not know?
When you go to a sports or entertainment venue, someone had to design, fabricate, and install the seat you are sitting on. Around most of Maryland, DC, and Virginia, that someone is ME! I was also recently featured on the cover of The Who’s Who in Building & Construction
Where do you see your business in 5 years?
I see $10 million in gross annual sales and having a staff of 10-15 people between field and office.
Tell me about yourself.
I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA, though, I have lived in Maryland for 26 years and Annapolis for 14 years. My wife, Gina, and I just celebrated 17 years of marriage, and we have a daughter, Devyn, who just turned 10 last week.
Other than work, what are you passionate about?
I really enjoy helping people.
What types of activities or hobbies do you enjoy outside of work?
I love exercising. I primarily work on lifting and bodybuilding, and I also play guitar.
What is your favorite meal in Annapolis?
Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse has amazing food, but I always get their 8 oz. filet, medium rare.
