At My Annapolis Office, we take pride in building meaningful relationships with each of our members. This month, we are highlighting Jason Johnson, founder of Johnson Law Annapolis, an Annapolis estate planning lawyer and elder law attorney. We hope you enjoy getting to know Jason Johnson attorney as much as we have!
Tell Us About Your Company and What You Do
Johnson Law is an estate planning and elder law firm. I work with clients at all stages of life, with a focus on those nearing or in retirement. This phase brings unique challenges, including estate and incapacity planning, long-term care considerations, and legal strategies for tax-deferred retirement distributions. I also serve as legal counsel for estate and trust fiduciaries.
How Did You Get Started in Your Industry?
I developed a passion for estate planning law during law school, where I focused my studies on this field. Over time, I expanded into elder law, an area that intersects multiple legal disciplines. I truly enjoy collaborating with clients and financial professionals to navigate complex planning matters.
What is Something About Your Business That Most People Do Not Know?
Many assume that estate planning only involves transferring property after death. In reality, it goes far beyond that. As an Annapolis estate planning attorney, I help clients prepare for incapacity, minimize transfer and income taxes, secure long-term care benefits, and safeguard assets from creditors.
Where Do You See Your Business in Five Years?
I plan to continue expanding Johnson Law Annapolis organically, reaching more clients and collaborating with financial and legal professionals.
Tell Me About Yourself
I live in Annapolis with my wife and two daughters. Before launching my law practice, I served as a police officer for 20 years and worked as a firefighter and paramedic. I pursued law school while working in law enforcement, with the long-term goal of establishing an estate planning law firm.
What Hobbies or Activities Do You Enjoy?
I enjoy everything Annapolis has to offer, especially boating and golf. Traveling is another passion of mine.
What is Your Favorite Place to Eat in Annapolis?
El Toro Bravo on Riva Road—my go-to dish is Pollo Ranchero.
Why Did You Choose My Annapolis Office?
I wanted a professional office suite environment with reception services, management staff, and access to meeting rooms. It was important to have a space that is easily accessible and comfortable for my clients. After an unsatisfactory experience with another provider, a friend recommended My Annapolis Office, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision.
